COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Colorado Springs City Council has declined to consider a resolution condemning an attack that police say may have been prompted by the fact that the assailants believed at least one victim was gay.

Officials said last week that the council has already taken a public stand against discrimination and that a new resolution is unnecessary.

A group including Carolyn Catley, secretary of the El Paso County Democratic Party, asked the council to condemn the July 2 assault outside a restaurant. Police say the assailants made anti-gay slurs.

One person suffered a facial fracture. No arrests have been made.

The Gazette of Colorado Springs reports that City Council President Scott Hente said the council condemned racism and discrimination in a resolution eight years ago. The  resolution is posted in City Hall.

Hmm, nice girl. Younger than the others. I’d vote for her. Plus she is not a spaeicl interest minority group just trying to get into power to change Canadas laws.
