Genius Lovers: Strange Game
Electropop dance licks dominate this happy, mostly hoppy debut release from writer/producer Dave DeRosa and vocalist Katara. The title track is unavoidably groove-inducing, the retro brass effects on “Push Back” are funky and fun, and “Dirty Things” is just nasty enough, but the ballad “You Know Why You’re Here” is jaw-dropping lovely and insightful.
