A Study in Lavender: Queering Sherlock Holmes

Edited by Joseph R.G. DeMarco

Sherlock Holmes has always read gay to me. Even the marrying off of Watson was nothing more than the device that made such stories palatable to sophisticated readers of the time. I mean, really—men walking (i.e. cruising) the Embankment! Here, a gaggle of talented writers reinvents the Holmes/Watson stories in a way that is entertaining and that finally rings true. Every Holmes fan, gay or not, will enjoy the stories that let us know the original Dynamic Duo a little better.
