The Houston Transgender Unity Committee is extending an open invitation to help us celebrate the 20th Annual Transgender Unity Banquet on Saturday April 28, 2011. This is the largest Transgender Community event held in Houston each year.

Litter upon litter of puppies and multitudes of stray dogs are flooding the BARC facility while many area rescue groups are already full. BARC has also seen a higher number of lost pets or animals arriving at the facility that may have owners looking for them. Fairness Works Houston will hold its first organizing meeting on February 25, 2012 to plan for a city charter amendment that would prohibit discrimination in Houston in the workplace and in housing situations. The meeting will detail the work that has been done and the work yet to be done. We will answer any questions you may have about the city charter amendment. Anyone that has a stake in this legislation is invited to attend.
the Human Rights Campaign and the Gay & Lesbian Victory Fund announced that both organizations have endorsed Kyrsten Sinema, an experienced and passionate leader, for Arizona’s 9th Congressional District. Sinema is a former state Senator and Representative and has been the Arizona legislature’s strongest proponent of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality.
