A well-known, openly gay supporter of Mitt Romney in New York has decided to withdraw his support for Romney and back President Barack Obama instead. The clincher: Romney’s stance on same-sex marriage.
The vote over Tracy Thorne-Begland’s nomination as judge to the Richmond General District Courts ran late into Tuesday morning. At 1:13 a.m. , Del. Jennifer McClellan (D – Richmond) announced lawmakers voted down Begland’s nomination 33-31 with 10 abstentions. He needed 51 votes.
George Takei will be in Houston next weekend for the annual Comicpalooza convention, running May 25–27 at the George R Brown Convention Center. They are advised by one character’s grandfather, a sensei who appears only as a hologram to his young charges. He’s known, endearingly, as Hologramps.

With election time drawing near, it Republicans are stepping all over each other to see if anyone can outdo comparing women to caterpillars, making your dogs ride on the roof of your car, or not being able to recall three things at one time.

After two years of claiming that his views were “evolving,” President Obama said on Wednesday that he has finally reached a conclusion and supports same-sex marriage.
