Splintered 150x150 Splintered Souls readout arts entertainment Author: Cynthia Lyn

This first novel by Cynthia Lyn would have been good had there been a decent editor involved. Too much telling, not enough showing left this reader longing for a blue pencil. The only reason to read this book is if you are looking for a mystery with a sympathetic portrayal of a transgender character. Still, there’s enough potential here that I would read a second book by Lyn if a quick perusal showed the editorial flaws of the first had been addressed. I want to thank you for the honest review. I truly appreciate it. Being my first novel, I was unaware of the ins and outs of good writing. I had an editor and depended on this person to know what she was doing. However, the novel is mine and the errors are mine as well. I’m trying to start my second novel and I am stuck with writer’s block, not knowing what I did wrong in the first one. I hope you will give me another chance. Thank you again.
