Cheryl Chase

Cheryl Chase, training her horse, in northern California, is the person who brought the plight of intersexed (people born with ambiguous genitalia) out of the closet. She and a group of activists, "Hermaphrodites With Attitude," are fighting to prevent pediatric surgeons from operating on healthy babies born with atypical genitalia: Let the person whose body it is determine for themselves how it should look, when they are ready to make that decision.
