Armstrong Investments Shares The Wealth With ’12 Days Of Christmas Donations
Charles Armstrong , president and chief executive officer of Charles Armstrong Investments, Inc., the parent company of Meteor, JR’s Bar and Grill, South Beach, and the Montrose Mining Company, has announced his annual end-of-the-year charitable donations. Twelve local nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organizations were chosen to share $12,000, given in the spirit of the Twelve Days of Christmas, for the sixth consecutive year.
“I am pleased to announce that we are once again in a position to give back to our community during this holiday season,” Armstrong said. “These organizations work hard 12 months a year to provide services to both men and women in Houston’s GLBT community. Even with the challenging local economy and a national recession, we believe it is important to support and recognize these 12 organizations. I would also like to challenge other businesses and bar owners in the community to reach deep into their pockets and donate to some or all of these wonderful organizations. On behalf of our 100-plus employees, management, and thousands of valued patrons that support our family of clubs at 800 Pacific Street, we salute 12 nonprofit organizations with a $1,000 donation to each.”
Organizations receiving the donations include AIDS Foundation Houston, AssistHers, Bering Omega Community Services, Center for AIDS, Montrose Counseling Center’s Gay & Lesbian Switchboard of Houston and HATCH youth group, Houston Society for the Prevention of Cruelty
to Animals, the Houston Transgender Unity Committee, Legacy Community Health Services, Lesbian Health Initiative–Houston, Pride Houston, and the Spay-Neuter Assistance Program.
