Lessons is a religious manifesto trying (and failing) to disguise itself as a novel. Stilted dialogue, plot lines dangling everywhere, wooden characters you don’t care about, and finally, this line: “Many however, will not die from the virus itself, which can be easily killed, but from . . . a sense of deserving to die for some hedonistic feeling. . . .” I can’t remember the last book I found to be as repulsive as this one. — Review: Angel Curtis
