Third You Die
Kevin is a part-time hustler with a hunky cop boyfriend. He is working a straight gig on his mother’s TV show when he meets his porn star doppelganger. The double turns up missing, and, of course, Kevin tries to find him. Along the way we have scads of murders and the best perpetrator of the year. We also have Kevin pretending to be his mother’s husband to try to—oh, read the book! I don’t understand why this series doesn’t get more attention. There are wonderful, funny, true-to-life characters with real personalities. There’s great plotting as in “I didn’t see that one coming.” There’s laugh-out-loud writing and dialogue. This book is for everyone who loves a good story, not just mystery addicts. Kensington (kensingtonbooks.com). —Angel Curtis
