‘Boys in Brazil’
For a lighthearted romp through Sao Paulo, you can tune in and turn off with Boys in Brazil. This campy comedy introduces a group of closeted gay friends who, after witnessing gay-bashing at the annual gay pride, make a pact to come out. This proves particularly tricky for flamboyant wanna-be drag queen Mauro, whose parents are convinced homosexuality is caused by demonic possession, and the married Roger, whose wife is expecting a second child. Portuguese with English subtitles. TLA Releasing (tlareleasing.com). —Lucy Doyle
