WHO: For the vast majority of its more than 700 students, Foerster Elementary is a refuge from a challenging world where poverty, hunger, and crime are all too commonplace. A diverse population spanning a myriad of ethnicities shares one unfortunate similarity: nearly 99% of its students are categorized as economically disadvantaged. WHAT: Help us put a smile on kids’ faces and provide them with tools to focus on and excel in their classes by making a donation of new or gently used items. The Friends of Foerster back-to-school drive is not only seeking academic supplies like pens, notebooks, and rulers, but also clothing, hygiene products ranging from soap to toothbrushes, and non-perishable food items to stock the school’s student pantry.
