When this newsprint exhibition was first proposed to Robert Frank, whose photographs have set auction records as the most expensive photos in the world, he commented, “Cheap, quick and dirty, that’s how I like it!” But, it wasn’t until hearing the final destination of the prints – the trashcan – that he fully consented. Upon hearing this component, he tossed a handful of prints next to his cast-iron stove to be used as fuel and growled: “Nothing left for the rotten art market!”
