The language deliciously spins Shakespeare’s native iambic pentameter for incredible character dialogue conceived by Jeff Whitty and adapted by James Magruder. Head Over Heels tells a story of the consequences for a nation run by conservative hierarchy. King Basilius (Lucio Nieto) is challenged by an Oracle (Damzelyn Distress) sent from Zeus to tend the flame of holy knowledge at Delphi and make changes throughout the land. When the Oracle declares a fallen kingdom, the King and his courtier, Dametas (TJ Webb) lead a journey to Bohemia to avoid chaos, and–take care of business. Queen Gynecia (Whitney Wyatt) and her daughters Philoclea (Kelsey Perkins) and Pamela (Elle Anders) are challenged by the archaic, masculine rule. Philoclea’s true love, Musidorus (Austin Gabriel) will have to make the hero’s journey to win the hand of Basilius’ daughter. Dametas’ daughter, Mopsa (Hannah Kelly), proves to be an asset, becoming the only traveler on their journey who can communicate with the mystical creatures of Arcadia as they journey throughout their realm.
