This annual event kicks off on International Women’s Day, uniting women from across Houston to work collaboratively in building a home for a future woman homeowner. Women and children make up the majority of our neighborhoods, yet they are often the most affected by undesirable living conditions. In fact, as of 2023, more than 70% of Houston’s Habitat homeowners are women. Everyone—regardless of race or gender—deserves the opportunity to own a home and live in a safe, affordable space where they can work, play, and raise a family. Together, we raise awareness of the affordable housing needs facing women and children around the world. Over the course of several weekends, Houston Habitat staff will be joining volunteer groups from ARCO Design, Tesley Group, Impact 13, Cemex, She Space, Navitas, and other supporters to build a home from the ground up. We invite our friends and supporters to join us in fully funding a home for a future woman homeowner. By participating in Women Build 2025, you’re not just investing in affordable housing for women—you’re helping to create strong, thriving communities that will empower generations to come.
