Project Row Houses and the Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts Host 2019 Fellowship Final Presentations
Tuesday, December 3, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
FreeOn Tuesday, December 3 at 6:30 p.m., join us at the University of Houston Fine Arts Building for the performance-lectures by the 2019 Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts-Project Row Houses (KGMCA-PRH) Fellows, Libby Bland and Sarah Rafael García. As their fellowship year comes to a close, Bland and García will present their to-date responses to the questions that guided their year of research:
– Building an Emotional Atlas to Guide Preservation by Libby Bland
– Reality Check 3rd Ward: An Oral History Time Capsule Chronicling Futuristic Joy by Sarah Rafael García
The KGMCA-PRH fellowship program was created in 2016 by the Center for Art and Social Engagement at the University of Houston Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts and Project Row Houses. The fellowship invites two artists and cultural practitioners to Houston’s Historic Third Ward to work alongside urban planners, educators and policy makers. Each year the fellows engage in creative collaborations that involve the Historic Third Ward community and address issues important to its residences.
Admission is free.
