Bones of Contention

(2017; 75 min; Spain, USA; Color: DCP; Jezebel Productions; Icarus Films; Not Rated)

Bones Of Contention explores the theme of historical memory in post-Franco Spain, focusing on the unknown story of LGBT repression under Franquismo. What happened to LGBT people during Spain’s fascist regime? This film uncovers their stories and breaks their silence for the first time. Featured in the 67th Berlin Film Festival, Andrea Weiss’s documentary explores a critical piece of history often ignored and suppressed.
