An end of life planning legal clinic will be free and open to the public: Where: Law Harrington Center Second Floor Library, 2222 Cleburne St. Houston, TX 77004 When: Thursday, April 10 Time: Presentation at 1 PM, Walk-In Assistance from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM Participants can receive information at the event on creating a will, advance directives for if they become incapacitated, and transfer-on-death deeds for property to help avoid lengthy proceedings after death. The event is being put on in a joint effort between local non-profit organizations, including The Montrose Center, The Earl Carl Institute, Stonewall Law Association of Greater Houston, and both U.N.I.T.E. and Civil Rights Law Society of Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University. Participants will be given the chance to speak to a licensed attorney about their needs and relevant processes and then will be given documents to take home and fill out. They will schedule a time to come back to finalize and notarize those documents and will be advised about how to best store them for future use.
